This article discusses how the UTSA college of science and college
of engineering has been awarded 3 million in grants from the National
Nuclear Security Administration. The reason we have been awarded this
grant is because of our CONNECT project. The
Consortium of Nuclear Security Technologies, also know as CONNECT, is a
very big cross-disciplinary research task.
This is really important because it will provide UTSA students the
opportunities to receive a background in nuclear security, a rapidly
growing field. It also gives them the opportunity to network with people
already established in the field. This gives
UTSA students the opportunity to go into a leadership role instead of
entry-level positions in national nuclear security-related careers.
